Mark Raissis
Mark is Odyssey’s Engineer and 1st mate. Mark has been a Marine Engineer for his entire working career and is a competent boat handler holding Master 5 / MED 2 qualification.
Mark loves a challenge and there is nothing he can’t fix. A great sense of humour and a kind friendly manner makes Mark easy to warm to; he has good knowledge of the Kimberley and loves to share it with guests, especially around sunset over a coldie. |

Amber Thompson
Amber is our chef. Her friendly personality and culinary skills have been winning people’s hearts on board Odyssey. Trained as a master chef with a seafood specialty Amber’s scrumptious dishes will keep you coming back for more.
With the bountiful Kimberley smorgasbord at her fingertips, Ambers will create her own special mouth-watering delights.
Nothing is too much trouble for Amber, always ready with a smile she will tell you “catch it and I will prepare and cook it to perfection".
Amber holds a Coxswain Certificate making her a very versitile crew member. |

Matt Dawson
Matt’s Kimberley experience is extensive despite his youth. As a Master 5 / MED 2 Matt has skippered Odyssey with precision throughout the Kimberley Region. His knowledge of the tides and navigation is exemplary so you know you are in safe hands while he is in command.
A quite achiever by nature with a passion for the wonders of this great country Matt will be proud to share his knowledge of the Kimberley on all of the Odyssey excursions throughout the expedition.
Matt first joined Odyssey on a school excursion then chose a career in the marine industry and quickly graduated to become a capable Master 5 and take charge of Odyssey and other vessels. You may find Matt at the helm of one of the Rottnest ferries during the summer months. |

Richard Costin
Richard has spent the past 32 years exploring the Kimberley. A naturalist himself, he comes from a family of passionate conservationists. Richard’s major interests are photography and wildlife and whale research.
Richard has walked and explored vast tracks of the Kimberley land and coast, producing two DVDs, “Wildwater Country” and “Birds of Paradise”, as well as some stunning stills photography.
Richard has a wealth of information to share with all as he guides you through this wonderful part of our great country. |
